Broadway royalty Lea Salonga sings in ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ finale.
In the episode, Salonga played Myrna, the aunt of Josh (Vincent Rodriguez), who performs at his sister’s wedding. She sang “One Indescribable Instant” from Rebecca’s (Rachel Bloom) favorite animated movie as a child.
"Lea was somebody that we had started talking about really early on because we were dealing with a Filipino family and we knew we wanted to have someone in Josh‘s family sing in the finale, and it was just like, to dream the impossible dream of having Lea Salonga – and it almost didn’t work out because of her schedule." Showrunner Aline shared the reason of Lea’s appearance to the show.
The season one finale of “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” featuring Lea Salonga finally aired on the CW network in the United States on Monday (Tuesday in Manila).
